Mido is a prick
There was no way to predict Deafheaven would do as well as it has.
As bands start to imitate Deafheaven, we see the band as part of a trend. But when the band was signed, there were far fewer acts of this type and no one could have anticipated that any one of the them would ‘breakout’ into a larger listenership.
You can tell when a label is chasing a certain consumer, and this is not at all a case of that.
When something is fully ‘over’ it means there’s bigger money and fewer acts. Breaking Benjamin, for example, is still big.
Of Mice & Men is big big at the moment. Filling bigger rooms than swoop music did at its ‘peak.’
There’s lots of places that suck in the US.
That is one bad name.
